“I had been in touch with Adam who ran the Sound & Fury label, and through him Penelope got in touch asking if I’d be interested in a project where she’d ask musicians to interpret her poems. I did this one, and Peter Broderick did one, but then the project ended sadly. A couple of years later. Penelope sent me a picture from Waverly Cemetary that I still have in my studio as a reminder of life’s fragility.”
