“This was a tough one. I had kept recording and assembling and collecting sounds and music over almost two years’ time. I had this idea of making an album that sounded the way the novel The Shipping News by E. Annie Proulx felt, but I just couldn’t get it right. And then suddenly, it just happened. Over the course of a couple of weeks, I worked day and night in some kind of manic fever-frenzy and just pulled the whole thing together in one of those rare moments of pure inspiration.”
